The Rift

The Vespiquen buzzed her wings gently against the pulsing walls, and gave the order to her drones to allow her an exit for her. A wet tearing sounded off in the shadows, and the Mother of the Brood shifted in the warm, wet confines of her home, eager to escape this realm. A shaft of light entered the area, now revealed to be the abdominal cavity of a large creature, and mother clawed her way out, leaving gouges and bleeding lines in the flesh around her.

"I'll dig my hole... you build a wall...."

Mother exited the gash, and turned to nod at the once proud figure she now dwelt within. Tall, majestic, with a ring of gold surrounding his mutilated Torso, and black sludge and scales corrupting his once fair features, Arceus at once stunning and pitiable in his appearance. A gash split open his side where Mother had exited, and organs wrapped in black Corruption could be seen. Even as she watched however, her drones set about with a Heal Order, and began to stitch the torn flesh together with strands of ooze.

The Leader of the Swarm turned to her main objective now, the gash in reality, torn by Arceus and Giratina. Stepping through,followed by millions upon millions of Parasite laden Combee and Larvae, the swarm spread throughout the remains of the scorched forest she now found herself in. "Someday that wall... is gonna fall..."

Mother spread her wings, now more parasite than flesh (like most of her), and ascended gently into the air to survey the blasted plain, spying a Green.... thing in the distance, lying in a heap among the ruins of a human town. Setting her sites, and continuing her song, Mother approached, the swarm eating the sky as she moved.

Wingbeats.

The heavy, labored breathing of the once great Sword of Justice was now all the weary guardian could hear, coupled with the buzzing of bugs in the distance. To weak to even life his head, he felt his mind slip in and out of unconsciousness, the darkness threatening to swallow him whole. "Wh-Who's there..." he coughed, sputtering out his words. The lyrics of a song slithered into his ears, Virizion determinedly craning his head to see the figure in the distance. A Vespiqueen, black and scaly... Similar to what he himself is slowly becoming.

Struggling onto his mossy hooves, he only stood for a few seconds before collapsing onto his knees, body bloody and battered from his rampage. He silently stared at the ruins of the village, gazing at the bodies strewn carelessly across the earth. Hadn't he vowed, long ago, to protect these beings? He remembers the vow that he and his brothers took, swords connected as they recited the words. "Better than one is two... Better than two is three... Better than three is four... When the power of friendship unite as one, true courage and bravery is born..." he mumbled, expression sad as he turned away, staring at the ground.

The being, now recognized as the former Guardian of the Forest, Virizion, turned a sad gaze towards the ground as the Vespiquen leaned over his prone, broken form. "Better the world than four though, yes dear?" The Green Swordsman looked at Mother before his eyes fluttered closed and his head fell to the dirt.

"Oh... poor thing... Don't worry, Mother's here for you.... Mother will help her child... yes... yes..." Mother focused on Virizion for a brief moment, and felt the swarm resonate with her interest on his wounds. "Mother will fix you right up... yes.. yes..."

The Swarm above swirled and twisted, before Launching itself at the fallen legend below. There was a sound of Hail and Rain as the insects composing the Legion liquified and impacted everything below. The Town, Mother, and Virizon, all drenched in the parasite, filling and knitting wounds, soaking the ground, coating limbs.

"Mother will fix all her children... yes...."

"Better the world than four though, yes dear?" The legendary glanced at the Vespiqueen in front of him, a thin frown appearing on his face before the guardian lost his consciousness, eyes closed as his head dropped to the Earth. "...arceusdamnit." he sputtered, wheezing heavily. "Oh... poor thing... Don't worry, Mother's here for you.... Mother will help her child... yes... yes... Mother will fix you right up... yes.. yes..."

Virizion felt bugs, small, skittering insects begin to mend his flesh. The grass-type cringed, and as much as he liked the bug-types of his forest, these did not feel the same. His body felt so foreign, liquid coating it as it slowly drips down to the ground. "Mother will fix all her children... yes...." he grunts, gritting his teeth in an unconscious daze as he willed himself to wake up, to resist this slime coating that stitched his wounds. "...no." he mutters, weakly attempting to move his legs.
